The Bullpen: SC 12 - Tennessee 8

The Gamecocks are in Tennessee this weekend and have taken the first two out of three from a slowly improving Vols team.  While the Vols are below .500 in SEC play and have dropped their last 7 in a row now, and 7 in a row to us also & they can't be taken lightly.  They fought us tooth and nail in the first two games.  We'd score & they'd score!  Today we went up by 7 and they tied us up.  Then in came Westmoreland!  Stud, Golden, intimidating is what describes Adam this year! He shut the Vols bats down.  Again, he is the Tyler Webb of this year!  80+ pitches in relief! How big has it been to our bullpen the past couple years that we have relievers that can have a starters pitch count?  Its priceless and so very RARE!!  12 runs on 17 hits and only 5 strike outs!

When we get hits this year we are seeing it show up on the scoreboard as runs as well!  Verguson broke Tennessee's pitchers streak of no homers allowed this season and got his fourth jack of the season.  LB fought hard and earned a walk to put two on base for Schrock and he brought his big boy bat this time and cranked the ball over the outfield wall for his first three RBI'S of the series.  Our second string catcher, which is second only to Greiner in the nation had two huge doubles!

We've now won 3 out of four series this year and are starting to Crow that loud Yardcock Crow!  I swear it sounds and smells like OooooA OooooA OMaaaaaHaaaaaaa!!  All this and we're without our young gun Montgomery who is nearing return! I hope the doubters are starting to believe there is life after Tanner!  Go YardCocks!  And, as my boys over at Gamecock Born and Gamecock Bred always say, Carolina has learned to Win Anyway!  CLOCK A DOODLE DOOOO!!!!!
